Since the launch of terrestrial digital television in November 1998, DTS have been installing thousands of new aerials to help viewers receive the latest digital services now on offer.
With over two years practical experience in solving customers digital reception issues, our installation and support staff have acquired a unique knowledge of the problems associated with digital television.
Unlike the old days with most analogue broadcasts the new digital system relies on your equipment receiving a clean uninterrupted stream of digital data which it decodes from the transmitted digital signal.
To ensure that this data stream reaches your equipment satisfactorily the aerial installation frequently needs to be completed to a much higher standard than the older, analogue installations.
Digital Television
Both 'Free To Air' (BBC, ITV, etc) and subscription (Ondigital) television services rely on the digital product receiving a good clean signal that operates within the approved 'digital window' described by broadcasters and service providers.
If the digital product is supplied with an inadequate signal, viewers may find that a range of interference patterns blight their viewing pleasure and weird effects, including picture freezing, picture blocking and clicking on the sound.
All DTS aerial installations utilise high quality materials, which have been approved for digital reception by major manufacturers and are installed by professional installers using the latest test equipment recommended by the digital broadcasters.
Digital Radio (DAB)
Similarly the new Digital Audio Broadcasts (DAB) now being launched across the country also require a good clean uninterrupted signal to optimise the best results from your receiving equipment. In the majority of cases the installation of a simple DAB aerial will ensure that nothing interrupts your listening pleasure.
